Kano Government Shuts School Where Abducted Five-year-old Pupil Was Buried

Tanko killed his pupil after he discovered she recognized him, according to Abdullahi Kiyawa, a police spokeswoman in Kano.

Her body was unearthed and sent to Kano’s Mohammed Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Kano commissioner for education, Muhammad Kiru, while announcing the closure of the school said “the state government would commence an investigation of unregistered private schools and teachers to check such criminal activities”.

“The school has also been closed till further notice,” he said.
