A 38-year-old man has been apprehended under suspicion of the murder of a 49-year-old father in Hackney on Boxing Day.

Michael Murphy, a 49-year-old father, was tragically found dead in Hackney on Boxing Day, succumbing to stab wounds sustained in an altercation on Cranwood Street in east London at 3 am on December 26.

The Metropolitan Police arrested Jurejs Vankovs, 38, on suspicion of Murphy’s murder.
