Tragic Murder in East London
Michael Murphy, a 49-year-old father, was tragically found dead in Hackney on Boxing Day, succumbing to stab wounds sustained in an altercation on Cranwood Street in east London at 3 am on December 26.
Despite immediate treatment at the scene near Old Street station, Murphy couldn’t survive his injuries.
Arrest Made in Connection
The Metropolitan Police arrested Jurejs Vankovs, 38, on suspicion of Murphy’s murder.
Initial reports suggested an argument involving approximately 10 individuals, leading to Murphy being fatally knifed.
While four individuals were initially arrested on suspicion of murder, they were subsequently released without further action.
