Emmanuel Dim Laid To Rest At Ikenga Aguata Council Area

Late Prince Emmanuel Udokwu Dim, the first son of the traditional ruler of Ikenga, Late Igwe Dimaku Ezeohizu has been laid to rest at his Ikenga country home, Aguata Local Government Area.

 

During the burial Mass for the late Prince Emmanuel, held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ikenga, Reverend Father Emmanuel Onwuchekwe remarked that the departed was a devote Christian who was a founding father of his home Parish, St. Anthony and served as a Catechist in the church for a long time.

He also urged Christians to use the opportunity of the new year to reflect on their lives and live a positive Christian life.

 

Speaking after his Father’s interment, Dr. Basil Dim of Izunna Hospital, Awka said it is still painful to have lost their Father despite his old age but said they are thankful for the purposeful life he lived.

 

Another Son of the deceased, Dr. Sunday Dim explained that his father was more than a teacher and mentor who impacted greatly on his family and society, as he was a peaceful, loving and Godly man while Mrs. Basil Dim described his Father-In-Law as a good and peaceful man who maintained a straight path in life.

Some of those who paid condolence visit to the family at the burial ceremony including, the Chairman, Awka Zone of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr. Kanayo Onalu, an In-law to the family, Mr. Sunday Ubaka and a friend of the family, Mr. Chris Nzomiwu condoled with the family and urged them to take solace in the wonderful life their Father lived and keep his legacies alive.

 

The late Prince Emmanuel is said to be a known Educator, who taught in different schools from 40’s up until the 80’s when he retired, rising to the position of Head Master, as he embraced western Education early in life.

 

Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that the burial ceremony was well attended by family, friends and well-wishers, including the state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chairman, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu and host of others.

 

The late Prince Emmanuel died at the age of ninety-eight years.
