EPAA launches ‘A Day in the Reserve’ programme

SHARJAH, 15th December, 2021 – The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) launched the “A Day in the Reserve” programme, which is distributed over four sites on specific dates, at the Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre, Wasit Wetland Centre, Geological Park in Al Buhais, and Al Muntather Reserve.

Taking place until 23rd December, the programme includes families of different nationalities, contributing to their involvement in environmental and community programmes.

It enhances the ecological awareness of families by accompanying them on recreational, environmental education trips, which contribute to introducing them to the natural reserves in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the EPAA, said, “The ‘Day in the Reserve’ programme aims to contribute to informing various segments of society about the importance of nature reserves and their affiliated centres in the Emirate of Sharjah, raising awareness of the importance of preserving the environment and wildlife, and enriching a culture of sustainable eco-tourism, highlighting the protected areas and environmental landmarks in Sharjah, in addition to involving families in environmental and community programmes, as it is entertainment and an investment in the children’s vacation time in everything useful in the environmental world.
