Guinean Football Federation has appointed former Arsenal and West Ham player, Kaba Diawara as it’s new coach ahead of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON.
Diawara took over following the sacking of French coach, Didier Six after Guinea failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The 46 year old French born had spells with Arsenal and West Ham United and will be in charge of the team in a interim capacity according to vice president of the crisis committee of the Guinean Federation, Sega Diallo.
Kaba Diawara featuring for Arsenal
Diawara made 10 appearances for Arsenal in 1999 after signing from Bordeaux.

He went on to play for Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain before making six appearances on loan at West Ham.
Guinea will be counting on Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita to lead the West African nation’s challenge in Cameroon when the AFCON gets underway from January 9 to February 6 in Cameroon.
