Chief Kenneth Okpara, a Delta State governorship aspirant, and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been reported dead just months after burying his father.
The former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Delta State who died in the early hours of Friday had buried his father in August 2021.
A source close to the family stated that Okpara had been advised to step down from his political ambition due to his health challenges but refused.
“He had been on dialysis and yesterday he became unconscious and couldn’t make it,” the source confirmed.
Delta State Commissioner For Urban Renewal, Arthur Akpowowo confirmed the death on his official Facebook page.
At the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the family, and no cause of death has been revealed.
