The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has expressed dismay over socio-economic conditions that have continued to isolate children from family and societal values.

Bishop Ezeokafor, in a homily during his pastoral visit to Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, Abba in Njikoka Local Government Area, tasked parents on proper upbringing of the children, who he said are important to the Church and society.

He advised youths to embrace Christ and strive to be self-reliant.

The Catholic Prelate, who noted that the goal of every Christian is eternal life, which comes after tribulations on earth, tasked parishioners on spiritual and material growth of the Church, even as he called on religious and community leaders to work towards enthroning peace in their domains.

Correspondent Joseph Egbeocha reports that over four hundred faithful received the Sacrament of confirmation during the visit.
