Gombe: Commissioner of Environment resigns

The Gombe State Commissioner for Environment and Forest Resources, Dr.

Husaina Goje has resigned her appointment in Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s cabinet.

 
Dr.

Husaina is the daughter Senator Danjuma Goje, who in recent times has had a strain relationship with the governor.

 
On Friday, November 5, 2021, violent clashes occurred between supporters of the governor and the supporters of the senator.

 
Senator Goje alleged that the governor’s supporters prevented him from entering Gombe, while the government equally alleged that the former governor brought in political thugs to disrupt the relative peace being enjoyed in the Ssate.

 
In her resignation statement sent to the press, the former commissioner said her resignation was based on undisclosedpersonalreasons.

“Today, Saturday 6th of November I wish to inform the general public and media organisations that I Dr.

Husaina Goje, has tendered my formal resignation, from my position as Commissioner for Environment and Forest Resources to his excellency the executive governor of Gombe State Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya effective today.

 
“I also wish to inform that my resignation was made based on my personal reasons,” Dr.

Goje said.

 
She, however, appreciated the governor for the opportunity given to her to serve in his cabinet.
