Honourable Eric Oharisi, has called for calm in the face off between the Local Government and some traders in Ughelli

Honourable Eric Oharisi, a member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Ughelli North Two Constituency, has urged for calm in the face-off between the local government and some traders in Ughelli.

In response to some women’s protest on Monday that resulted in the closure of Ughelli’s ever-bustling East West Road, Honourable Oharisi maintained that discussion remains the best solution for any conflict.

The Lawmaker warned against people taking laws into their hands, saying that miscreants and criminals can hijack the peaceful protest to commit havocs on innocent citizens.

Honourable Oharisi stated that no matter the amount of provocations or alleged injustice, the issues can be investigated and peaceful resolution taken for the general good of all.

The Ughelli North Two Constituency representative said he had already reached out to some stakeholders and other relevant bodies geared towards seeking amicable solution to the problem

The Lawmaker, therefore, enjoined the traders to be law abiding, assuring that allegations raised in their protest will receive the desired attention.

Honourable Oharisi appealed to security agencies to help maintain peace in the locality.

He said opening of the Ughelli-Ogor Modern Market will go a long way in addressing the challenges faced by traders in Ughelli and its metropolis.
