7de Laan recently surprised its viewers when it shared a picture of Evelina 23 episodes later.
Evelina is a fictional character in 7de Laan that has been part of the show for the past two decades.
She’s a domestic worker that cleans and cooks for all the characters that have lived in the mansion.
The mansion first belonged to the Terreblanches, Ryno, and now belongs to the Wellmans.
She’s been referred to in the storylines for years as a background character and has never been seen until now, 22 years later.
Viewers of the soapie had given up on ever seeing her until now when her granddaughter Tumi Selepe arrived.
Tumi is played by legendary actress Linda Sokhulu who just joined the SABC2 soapie as a medical doctor and lawyer.
Evelina’s granddaughter came to Hillside to dig up her mother – Koketso’s remains and to find out how she died.
Tumi was shocked to find out that her mother’s remains had been moved and has now intensified the search to find her.
Fans remember previous characters such as Ryno, Madel Terreblanches’ family often complimenting her cooking.
The Wellmans recently stated that Rickus Wellman didn’t like her famous kidneys though the rest of the family loves them.
