2023: Peter Obi Finally Breaks Silence, Speaks On Running Presidential Race

Mr Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has finally broken his lengthy silence on whether or not he will run for president in 2023.
The former governor stated that if his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, zones its ticket to the south, he will run for president in 2023.
DAILY POST NIGERIA reports that During a press interview, Mr Obi Peter, who was a running mate of Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential elections, was cited as saying this.
A press release by his media aide, Mr Val Obienyem, quoted him as saying he is capable of turning around the futures of the country but will wait on the decision of the PDP before he declares his interest in the forthcoming election.
” All the elections that I followed within the past, the party that I belong to these days, the PDP created a pronunciation and took a stand.
at least in 2019 once I was concerned, wherever I will say Atiku gracefully selected me as his candidate that I stay everlastingly grateful to him for, the party set that the candidate ought to return from the North and that was what the party determined.
” And i think that the party owes it a requirement to say what their stand is.
If their stand these days is south, be rest assured i’ m aspiring, if they are saying north, I can’ t do otherwise or they selected the option that everybody is free, then, of course, you’ ll be hearing from me, ” he said.
This follows few weeks after a tweep had issued an ultimatum to the former vice presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party, PDP to declare interest for the presidency by the end of January or be sued.
He said, ” Sir, if at the end of this month and you don’ t declare interest for presidency in the 2023 election, then be ready for legal action from me.
Quoting the tweet, Obi responded, ” I wish I knew your real name. But the truth is, I don’ t have money to spend on a court case o. Give me some time.
